ATLANTA, GEORGIA
Here is another trip I did with Gema. Atlanta loves four-legged tourists. Actually, there is an official Pet-Friendly Guide to visit Atlanta with your humans. Here is the link:
SHALL WE START WITH A WALK?
Maybe you would like to take your human for a walk before lunch. There are some beautiful parks all around the city where you can go. I took Gema to PIEDMONT PARK. It is a 185-acre park located about 1.6 miles from Downtown. You and your human can go for a long walk or do some of the many activities that they organize. If you prefer playing off-leash, it has the biggest dog park of the city. The dog park is well equipped and clean, although the water fountains did not work. Dogs were friendly and their humans were watching over them. Additionally, when it is hot, the park hosts the "Splish, Splash, Doggie Bash" where you can swim.
However, if you would like to explore other parks, these are other options where you can go to fetch your ball:
FREEDOM PARK
GEORGIA INTERNATIONAL HORSE PARK
RAILSIDE DOG PARK
SOUTH BEND DOG PARK
RENAINSSANCE DOG PARK
AFTER SO MUCH FUN, ARE YOU HUNGRY?
If you would like to take your human for lunch but you do not feel like laying down on the ground, you can go to BILLOW SOCIAL HOUSE-MIDTOWN. They have an amazing "New American" menu and a special area called "Dog Bar".
Maybe you would like the HAPPY HOUR? in that case you can take your human to BUCKET SHOP CAFE. It is one of the most popular sport bars of Atlanta, where you can watch the game and enjoy the happy hour. I has a comfortable patio where dogs are welcome.
Since I was tired of playing in the park, I thought of taking Gema to Starbucks for a cup of coffee, although I could not find any of them where we could go together. Instead, I found Café Intermezzio-Midtown, an European style coffeehouse with a wonderful pet friendly outdoor area. They serve more that 70 types of pastries and delicious crepes. It is a pity that I cannot eat human's food, although I was staring at Gema to see if I could have something...
To finish, I would like to talk about the Atlanta International Airport. It is well prepared for dogs. You can play in a 1000-square-foot dog park fully fenced, with biodegradables bags and benches, or if you prefer, you can use one of its indoor or outdoor relief areas located in many terminals. Staff are friendly and they like dogs, however, the organization is a little chaotic which made feel a little stressed out and uncomfortable.
IT IS TIME TO GO BACK HOME
SEE YOU IN THE NEXT ADVENTURE!
