CHATTANOOGA (TENNESSEE)
CHATTANOOGA IN MY HEART!
Chattanooga is the best place where we have lived so far. Both Gema and I felt very happy there.
The town is surrounded by the Tennessee river and some lakes. There are state parks all over the town to go hiking just 5 or 15 minutes from home. There are many outdoors activities and people love dogs! You can go with your humans to many places.
Also, Chattanooga has the most astonishing fall season that I have ever seen. You can see yellow, green, orange and red trees together during fall. It is beautiful!
There are some beautiful and funny DOG PARKS. This is my favorite:
PLAY, WASH AND PINT
It is a dog park where your humans can have a drink and listen to music while you are playing. Rosé cider is delicious there!
All dogs must be up to date with their vaccines to be allowed to play in this park. There is a fetch area, an agility area and 3 little pools for you to splash in the water if you like. Also, your human can buy delicious treats for you, as well as other things, such as bandanas, leashes, collars, etc. Staff are amazing with dogs watching over us so we do not get in trouble.
Alternatively, I also played in these other dog parks:
HERITAGE DOG PARK
It is a part of the Heritage Park. Your human family can enjoy this beautiful park and you can play in the fenced area for dogs. Dogs are usually well behaved and their humans watch over them, so you can play with your four-legged friends safely. There are water fountains specially for dogs and agility equipment.
GREENWAY FARMS DOG PARK
It is in Hixon, very near Chattanooga. It is a part of a state park where there are trails with amazing scenic views for you and your humans enjoy. The dog park is big, although the day I went, there were some aggressive dogs and I ended up with some scratches and my vest broken, so I did not go back.
CHATTANOOGA CHEW CHEW CANINE PARK
This park is in downtown area. It is small but with enough space for you to run and play with other dogs. Some areas need some maintenance and are a little dirty. It has agility equipment and water fountain for dogs.
In case that you and your humans get up feeling like GOING FOR A WALK, I recommend going to some of the many amazing spots of the Riverpark. The Tennessee Riverpark is a landscape trail tracing 16.1 miles along the Tennessee river with public art, picnic areas, bike trails and fishing piers.
You must be on your leash which is especially challenging when you spot a squirrel and you want to chase it 😜.
There are some spots of these huge park that I especially liked:
RENAISSANCE PARK
There are many other great spots along the Riverpark where you can walk, ride your bike, stop to eat or drink something in a restaurant, do kayaking, rent a watercraft or a boat, etc. In the following link you can explore all the activities you can do with your human family in the Riverpark.
If you keep walking along the Riverpark, you can arrive in DOWNTOWN. This is one of the most beautiful areas in Chattanooga. The riverfront is full of nice boats, public art, beautiful buildings and green areas areas to enjoy your walk.
Your humans can visit the Creative Discovery Museum or the Tennessee Aquarium. You can also take your humans to one of the restaurants or bars of the area, since dogs are welcome in the outdoor patio, or you can take them to the Ross's landing park that includes a pier and an amphitheater.

In Chattanooga, most of the bars and restaurants with outdoor patio are pet friendly. These are some of my favorite bars that I used to enjoy with Gema.
STATE OF CONFUSION
Your human family can go for brunch, lunch or dinner. It has a good variety of craft beers and cocktails, and food is made in wood fire grills. There is live music and fire pits that make a nice atmosphere.
HEAVEN & ALE BREWING Co.
They have a wide range of quality beers with a focus of a hope-centric ales and they also serve food. When they bring the drinks to your humans, they also bring a bowl with water with you. If you behave well, you can be off-leash.
THE TERMINAL BREW HOUSE
It is a tavern located in a historic spot. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor patio that is on the top of the building. They have a good selection of beers and burgers are good, but I especially recommend that your humans try one of their cocktails "beer mimosa". It is a mimosa but made with beer instead of champagne.
HAIR OF THE DOG PUB
It is a pet-friendly pub where you humans can have have a beer, eat some good food and play pool or darts. They love dogs and they bring you water and treats.
There are great state parks all around Chattanooga. These are my favorites:
ENTERPRISE SOUTH NATURE PARK
In this park there are hiking, biking and horse trails, among other funny activities and events. One of the best things of this park is the "Sunshine Story Book Trail" where children can find pieces of a story tale all along the trail to read while they are doing hiking, as well as they can borrow a book to read, or donate a book too.
BROOKER T. WASHINGTON PARK
It is a scenic park with hiking and biking trails. It has picnic and fishing areas and an Olympic-size pool. There are many outdoor activities to do there, like camping, boating, horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming, among others.
It has great hiking trails and scenic views. You and your human family can backpacking or camping. It was the first time I saw a fall. It was little but I loved it.
THE DOG WIZARD
This is the academy where I took Gema to take classes together for me to learn how to behave well at home and in public places. My trainers John and Keila are systematic and methodic. They taught us effective strategies and techniques and I learned very fast thanks to them. Gema struggled a little with her body language which was a little confusing for me, and John worked with her until she learned too.
Lauren was also great at organizing and preparing all the activities and events for us. The three of them were very professional and kind to us. They explained all the techniques so clearly that it was easy for us to understand and learn. It was like "magic", but it was not. It is the knowledge and the broad experience that they have.
This is me some minutes before of my graduation exam:
However, once we arrived John and Keila made us feel safe and calm and we passed the exam!!!
If you are in Chattanooga and you need to take our human to take classes with you, THE DOG WIZARD is the best academy you will find.
I AM SURE YOU WILL LOVE THIS CITY
SEE YOU IN THE NEXT ADVENTURE!
